Soil survey work

Trying to find the crossing point of 1066 is not proving very easy.

Here we are down to 4 m which takes us back to the bronze age.

 

We encountered 3 layers of stone on the way down.

 Were these short term crossing points or part of the natural geology?

The search goes on.
